a slow sunday

“Arranging a bowl of flowers in the morning can give a sense of quiet in a crowded day- like writing a poem or saying a prayer. ”  Anne M. Lindbergh

How wonderful it is to walk in the garden and collect flowers and arrange them in tiny vases. When one takes the time to pick flowers there’s so much beauty and diversity to see. I never get bored of flowers and their lovely details!

“Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything beautiful, for beauty is God’s handwriting. ” R.W. Emerson

I feel blessed to be outside today. The sun is finally shining after days of rain and grayness. Taking time to read and reflect, resting in the hammock, listening to birdsong, watching the buzzing bees working (even on a sunday), smelling at our flowers (clematis and valerian), …

Aren’t these pretty water drops like silver pearls? The leaves of lady’s mantle look even more feminine decorated with delicate pearls. I couldn’t resist picking some of them to make myself a cup of herbal tea. A fresh tea with also peppermint leaves and lemon balm, together with a piece of pie and freshly picked wild strawberries from the garden. A friend gifted me rhubarb and I made the first upside down rhubarb pie of this year … and hopefully not the last one!
