Today it’s the 21st of December, winter solstice, which means it’s the shortest day of this year. A day I always look forward to as the days will lengthen again from now on.
Although I love the burning candles and tiny lights shining in the dark everywhere, I’m also longing for some brighter and longer days filled with sunny daylight.
Time for a winter quote as King Winter is making its entrance today…
“Snow was falling,
so much like stars
filling the dark trees
that one could easily imagine
its reason for being was
than prettiness. ”
Do you have some special plans for today?
To celebrate this first winter day I’ve been going for a run this morning. I enjoyed watching the sun coming up at the horizon, and the clouds as well. By the time I came home it was already raining, but I have my daily dose of vitamine D!
This afternoon I’m going to make marmelade with the organic bitter oranges I bought yesterday. So our house will be filled with their sweet and uplifting scent. The perfect remedy for a dark and rainy day!
I would like to wish you all cozy and peaceful Christmas days with your loved ones!
