Artist in Residence in Cornwall (UK)
I will spend some weeks in the wilds of Celtic Cornwall for my artist in residence which is part of the New Ceramics Prize I've won in Oldenburg in 2023.
This celtic and Cornish residency, in the middle of wild nature, offers a quiet spaciousness to still and be, and where I will work on new porcelain creations.

Summer Workshop
Why not trying to capture the beauty of summer in a floral set of plates, bowls and dishes?
These imprinted flowers will never wither and will surely add joy during the less flowering seasons!
During this workshop, for beginners as well as advanced, you'll intuitively work to create an organically shaped dinnerware set in which we will make imprints of real summer flowers. You’ll be encouraged to use your creativity and make pieces in your own style! I will also teach you how to use ceramic pigments to add some colour to your work.

Autumn Workshop (fully booked)
This is a one day workshop, for beginners as well as advanced. We'll start with a refreshing walk to embrace the beauty of autumn and to gather inspiration. When we're back and have enjoyed a warm cup of tea or coffee with a something sweet, I'll teach you how to make porcelain boxes out of plates with a wall hanging system at the back.
After having a homemade lunch you'll learn how to model autumn treasures, such as leaves, mushrooms and other autumn species in porcelain. In the afternoon there will be another break with homemade pie and warm drinks.

What about bringing blooming flowers and their fragrances into our homes? Hand modelled porcelain flowers as a diffuser set with a floral scent and a dried flower holder will surely add some spring feeling to our home!
During this workshop, for beginners as well as advanced, you will learn how to colour porcelain and model flowers with it. You’ll be encouraged to use your creativity and make pieces in your own style! I will also teach you how to make a dried flower holder with tiny porcelain flowers.

Every year in May, more than 110 ceramic artists and potters from Germany and numerous other European countries present their works and offer both, unique pieces as well as artfully crafted ceramics for everyday usage and experimental specimens for the interested purchaser. The Rathausplatz, the town hall square of Frechen, is then transformed into a stronghold of ceramic art the likes of which would be hard to find.
